Tehran, April 29, IRNA
Iran-Japan-Cooperation
Japanese Ambassador to Tehran Akio Shirota on Tuesday met the Head of Majlis Economic Commission Mohammad-Shahi Arablou to discuss expansion of economic cooperation between the two countries.

Referring to the good ties between Iran and Japan, the Japanese ambassador said the people and officials of the two countries are willing to broaden and bolster mutual cooperation mainly in the economic sector.

There are over 40 active Japanese firms in Iran which proves Tokyo's willingness to broaden ties with Tehran, he said.

At the meeting, the two sides underlined the need to further bolster economic cooperation between the two countries.

The role of private sectors is quite vital in the global economy, he underlined.

Arablou, for his part, highlighted historical ties between the two ancient civilizations and said the two countries have had constructive impacts on regional economy.

Expansion of economic cooperation will lead to more comfortable lives for the people and help maintain global security, he said.

Bullying powers seek to bring up baseless excuses to exert economic sanctions against countries to deprive nations of welfare and comfortable lives for their citizens, he said.

"Economy is a mutual concept and those who have imposed sanctions against us will sustain loses," he said.

In conclusion, he said that the use of peaceful nuclear technology is among the legitimate rights of all nations who seek more comfortable lives for their citizens.
