Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has stressed that any country who dares to attack Iran will be responded to very forcefully.
Addressing the audience on the occasion of the National Army Day ceremony in southern Tehran, Ahmadinejad said Iran prides in having "the world's most courageous army."
Iran is a peace-loving nation which seeks regional security, and the country's show of military power serves as a deterrent against foreign threats, he assured.
Ahmadinejad criticized the West's sanctions against Iran and said they are only meant to deprive the country of technical expertise. However, he noted, Tehran is now self-sufficient in producing military equipment and we owe this to the knowledge of Iranian experts.
"Our army is now capable of manufacturing the most advanced electronic systems, military equipment, tanks, submarines, vessels as well as different types of aircraft," he added.
Nearly 200 aircraft appeared in the skies of Tehran, the largest-ever maneuver in the country's history during the air show, on Thursday.
